Open Mouth, Insert Hoof . . .
Lately, after seeing the mud hurled back and forth between the Clinton and Obama camps, I’ve started to think that perhaps Democrats are their own worst enemy. As a Democrat, it makes me sad to see how the party has figuratively put its foot in its mouth on the race issue. The media has only made things worse by its constant reporting of the situation. Watching it all play out, I couldn’t help but think hey, I thought equal rights were one thing we (Democrats) were all supposed to agree on, so how come it looks like the candidates are trying to use the issue of race against each other? I hope that Clinton and Obama will stick to the truce they called last night and focus on the issues, or else their party might be doomed before they even make it to the general election.
