Senator Kasim Reed is a lifelong resident of South Fulton County. He was educated in Fulton County's public schools, where he graduated from Utoy Springs Elementary School and Westwood High School (now Westlake High School), he then received his undergraduate and law degrees from Howard University.
Though Sen. Reed is one of the youngest members of the Georgia General Assembly, he has a well-established track record of legislative excellence. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1998 as State Representative for District 52. He was re-elected in 2000, winning 77 percent of all votes cast. In the House, Sen. Reed served two terms as a member of the House Judiciary Committ |
