and the two sit down at a table, engage in thoughtful discussion on issues of importance to the majority of Americans, not forgetting the importance of minority views. They hash out areas of consensus, signing letters of commitment to engage in only positive campaigning. Finally, they invite the Statue of Liberty (who had been sitting alone at the bar) to add her Libertarian take to the mix. The three agree campaigns are too expensive and agree to voluntarily limit their expenditures, donating any surplus to orphanages. Then you wake up! ;)

Hillary Clinton DEMOCRATIC
2008 Presidential Candidate / Senator Democrat - New York. Hillary Rodham Clinton was elected to the United States Senate by the people of New York on November 7, 2000, after decades of public service on behalf of children and families.

From the Badger Herald

Chelsea’s high school, college and graduate school friends wrote a heartfelt column for the University of Wisconsin at Madison Badger Herald asking students to "Make Chelsea’s mom president."

We all met Hillary Clinton at different times, in different places and at different stages in our lives, but our stories are remarkably similar. All of us were filled with nervous excitement at the prospect of meeting the first lady of Arkansas, the first lady of the United States or the senator from New York, and were mostly hoping not to embarrass ourselves. (Meeting your friend’s mom for the first time in the foyer of the White House was an overwhelming experience for a bunch of awkward 13-year-olds!) Despite our nerves and the unique settings in which our first meetings took place, Hillary put us at ease within minutes. We were greeted with hugs, exclamations of how much she had heard about us from Chelsea and invitations to stay for dinner, to spend the night, to join the Clintons for a movie or a game of cards. In those first moments of our relationship with Hillary, all of her public titles and tremendous accomplishments faded and in our eyes she became, first and foremost, Chelsea’s mom.

Hillary Unveils Food Safety Plan

Following the largest beef recall in our nation’s history, Hillary highlighted a series of food safety proposals she would pursue as President. This recall is not an isolated case – it is yet another troubling reminder that our food supply is at risk. Each year, tens of millions of Americans contract food-borne illnesses every year; hundreds of thousands are hospitalized; and thousands die. And the risks are only growing. Last year alone, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) oversaw 21 recalls related to E. coli in meat, compared with just eight in 2006. One of those recalls involved more than 20 million pounds of ground beef that caused nearly 100 illnesses in the United States and Canada. In addition, yesterday’s recall by Hallmark/Westland is the second-largest supplier to the U.S. School Lunch program and a substantial supplier to other federal food and nutrition initiatives.

Hillary believes that American families should not have to worry about the safety of food on their dinner tables or in their children’s school lunches. That is why she has proposed common-sense – and long-overdue – food safety reforms, building on her work in the Senate.
